Security has been beefed up in Rawalpindi to avoid any untoward incident on Eid-ul-Fitr. According to police sources the law enforcing agencies are working under a comprehensive security plan chalked up for Eid holidays.

Heavy contingents of the police have been deployed at sensitive areas, worship places and busy markets besides deputing special patrolling teams on Eid days.

Special pickets have been setup at busy places and markets in Raja Bazaar, Moti Bazaar and other major markets of the city.

The security would be on high alert around the mosques during Eid prayers to avoid any mishap.

The police high-ups have directed all the SHOs to increase police patrolling in their respective areas during the Eid holidays to check theft.

Meanwhile, the district administration is also on high alert to deal with any emergency.
